  • ​To Forward individual calls to your cell phone:
    Note: This method will only work if a caller is transferred directly to OR directly dials your extension number, this will not work on KEY RINGING Calls or group calls.
    With the handset down press Intercom * 3
    Press the sofkey under More.
    Press the softkey under OffP.
    If you don’t have OffP as an option then your extension’s class of service does not allow off-premise forwarding.
    Press the softkey under Num.
    Enter 90 for the Line/Group/Intercom and press HOLD:
    This is where you tell the phone system what line to dial out on. 90 is like dialing 9, it will grab the last available line on the phone system. If you wanted to dial out only on line 3 you could enter 103 here.
    Enter the telephone number you want your calls forwarded to and press HOLD.
    The number should be entered the same as if you were dialing it from one of the NEC DSX phones.
    Press the softkey under All to forward intercom calls and outside calls OR the button under Line to just forward outside calls.

Your telephone display should now read FWD OFP>> XXXXXXXXXX

  • To Cancel Off Premise Forwarding

             Press Intercom * 3 and choose the new forwarding type.
            How to setup your Personal Voicemail

  • Create a password…

             Press the VM key on your display.
             Dial 67 (Options Menu)
            Press the Sec key on your display.
            Press the OK key on your display if you entered the correct               password.
           Press the Speaker key when you are done.
*The next time you press the VM key on your display you will be asked to enter your security code.

  • Create your personal greeting...

            Press the VM key on your display.
            Enter your security code. (If needed)
            Press the Greet key on your display.
            Press Gr1
           Follow instructions on how to record greeting.
           Press the Speaker key when you are done.
           Record your name into the voicemail…
           Press the VM key on your display.
           Enter your security code. (If needed)
           Dial 76 (Record Name)
          Follow instructions on how to record name.
          Press the Speaker key when you are done.
 *Your name is required for the company directory to work properly.

  • Checking Your Voice Mail Messages Remotely

            Call your main office phone number. If your call is                               answered by the auto attendant press # followed by your                 extension number at any time while the greeting is                              playing.  If your call is answered by someone in the office,                the person answering the call will have to transfer you to                  the main greeting of the Intramail voicemail system. This is             done by pressing the V-MAIL key, then hanging up. The                     person calling will hear the auto attendant greeting, “Thank             you for calling XYZ Company. If you know…” you then press              # followed by your extension number.

DSX FAQ

  • To set the time and date for your DSX System:
    From extension 300, dial #TD (#83).  Do this without lifting the handset or pressing any other keys first.
    Enter the time in 24-hour clock using hours (2 digits), minutes (2 digits) and seconds (2 digits).  Press HOLD.
    Enter the date using month (2 digits), day (2 digits), and year (4 digits).
    Press HOLD, then SPEAKER (SPK on DS-Series) to exit. 


  • To rerecord the Automated Attendant greeting (Instruction Menu Message):
    From the System Administrator's Mailbox (normally extension 300), dial SA (72) to reach the System Administrator options.
    Dial I (4) to select the Instruction Menus option.
    When prompted, enter the number of the Call Routing Mailbox whose Instruction Menu Message you want to record.
    By default, this is 001.
    Do one of the following:
    Dial L (5) to listen to the currently recorded Instruction Menu Message.
    Dial R (7) to record a new Instruction Menu Message.
    Dial E (3) to erase the Instruction Menu Message.
    Dial X (9) to exit. 


  • ​To program your extension’s name:
      Push Menu + Name (Menu + 81).
      Enter the name using the keypad.
      Push Save when you are done or Cancel to exit without saving.
    To program a name for your co-worker’s extension (From Operator/Admin Extension):
      Push Menu + Admin + Extension Name (Menu + 03).
      Enter your co-worker’s extension number and push Next.
      Enter the name using the keypad.
      Push Save when you are done or Cancel to exit without saving.
    (NEC DSX Software Version 2)
    To change the name that is displayed on your NEC DSX 22B display tel telephone:
    Press the soft key under Menu
    Press the soft key under More until you see Name on your display
    Press the soft key under Name
    Press the Clear button to erase the current name and use the keypad to enter the new name
    Press the Speaker button to exit


  • Changing Ringing Assignment--- You will need to perform the following steps on each telephone you wish to change.
     Leave the handset on the cradle, press # 7 2 5  Your lines keys will light up either green or red and Select Line Key will appear on your display
     Press each line key until the desired ring type is displayed on the phone, i.e. Always, Night Ring, Delay Ring, or Lamp Only.
    Repeat this step for each line
    .  Press Speaker


  • Personal Speed Dial
    The top 10 buttons on your phone are 701-710.  You have an additional personal speed dials (Bin 711-720)
    Dial #77   You can either dial the personal speed dial bin number (701-720),
    Or press a personal speed dial bin key (for bins 701-710),
    Or press DIAL + a personal speed dial bin key (for bins 711-720).
    Press HOLD
    You can either enter the line number you want the system to use when dialing your stored number (1-64)
    Or (preferred method) enter the line group number you want the system to use when dialing your stored number.  Enter 90.
    Press HOLD
    Enter the phone number you want to store. (if you need to dial a 1 first, please enter with the phone number as you would dial out).
    Press HOLD
    Press HOLD again
    Enter the name for the speed dial using the keypad.
    Press HOLD
    You can repeat steps 2-10 to program additional bins.
    Press SPEAKER to exit programming.
    To dial a stored Personal Speed Dial number:
    Press INTERCOM  + #
    Dial the personal speed dial number (701-720) 


  • System Speed Dial
    Dial #77
    Dial the System Speed Dial Bin (200-299)
    Press HOLD
    You can either enter the line number you want the system to use when dialing your stored number (1-64)
    Or (preferred method) enter the line group number you want the system to use when dialing your stored number.  Enter 90.
    Press HOLD
    Enter the phone number you want to store. (if you need to dial a 1 first, please enter with the phone number as you would dial out).
    Press HOLD
    Press HOLD again
    Enter the name for the speed dial using the keypad.
    Press HOLD
    You can repeat steps 2-10 to program additional bins.
    Press SPEAKER to exit programming.


            To dial a stored System Speed Dial number:
            Press INTERCOM  + #
           Dial the personal speed dial number (200-299)
